As the only child in her family, 10-year-old Anna never felt alone because her parents loved her a lot. She was their top priority1, so she always got her way. However, things changed when Anna's mother told her she was going to be a big sister and had to become more mature.

　　Anna didn't want to share her parents' love, but after her mother delivered her baby brother, their focus shifted to him. Anna felt neglected and very jealous. One day, out of curiosity, she leaned over the crib2 and took a good look at her baby brother. He was so tiny and cute that Anna couldn't resist gently touching his chubby3 cheeks. 　　"second thought"除了用於上句之中，表示『毫不遲疑』之外，還可以出現於下列用法：
1. "have second thoughts"表『改變主意；對原先想法產生動搖』。

（聽完我的意見後，比爾對辭職這件事改變了主意。）
2. "on second thought"表『經再次考慮後』。
