Is it possible that there is a pool on the edge of one of the world's biggest waterfalls?

Recently, a few pictures making the rounds on the Internet showed people jumping, splashing, and having a good time in a small pool on the edge of Victoria Falls, one of the largest waterfalls in the world. Many comments on the photos called them fakes or said that they had been photoshopped. _(1)_, however, the pictures were totally authentic. How did tourists get to swim in the Devil's Pool?

在 9 月至 12 月的乾季期間，河流的流量銳減。因此人們可以沿著瀑布而行，跳進緊鄰瀑布邊緣的小池裡。雖然這看似危險，但後頭其實有許多大石塊擋住湍急的河水。同時，池 子前有一面藏在水面下的石牆，防止人超出瀑布邊緣。一些像是尼加拉瓜瀑布等地會利用柵欄不讓遊客靠近水邊，相較之下，許多遊客發現在魔鬼池裡泡水的感覺就 像是在天上游泳一樣。
