Enter the world of pigeon racing, a national sport that can make an enthusiast a millionaire. In The Pigeon Game, the spotlight is put on this lucrative sport and the 30,000-plus fans that enjoy it.
Few people in Taiwan like cockroaches. In fact, most people pull out a slipper as soon as they see one. Cockroach Confidential goes around the city with two experts on these creatures that have been around for 350 million years. Peter Lai, the founder of Ivy League Analytical English, lends his voice to this interesting documentary that can only be seen on the National Geographic Channel.
Butterflies are one of Taiwan 's top treasures. Oftentimes they are marked so researchers can keep an accurate count of them. One afternoon, a marked Parantica Sita butterfly was found by a young butterfly-catcher. This isn't out of the ordinary except that the butterfly catcher was in Japan , some 2,000 kilometers away. Taiwan to the World also tries to uncover how this creature made the flight across the ocean.
