若干特殊形式的被動語態：

1.

“get＋p.p.”—— 相當於 “be＋p.p.”，但只用於口語中。——其中有些 “p.p.” 應視爲做主詞補語的 “分詞形容詞”。如：

(1)

How did the window get broken? (＝ How was the window broken?)
(這窗子是怎麽破的?)

(2)

That picture got damaged (or was damaged) when we were moving.
(那幅畫是我們搬家的時候弄壞了。)

(3)

Mary was supposed to be home an hour ago, but he still isn’t here. I’m getting worried.
(瑪麗一個小時以前就該到家了，可是到現在還沒有回來，我越來越擔心。)

此一結構裡的 get 也和 be 一樣可以用進行式，如上例是。

Just try to take it easy. Don't get upset. Everything will be all right.
(你儘管放心。不要煩惱，一切都會很順利的。)

Everybody gave me different advice. I got confused.
(大家都給我不同的意見，倒把我弄糊塗了。)

We can leave as soon as I get finished with this work.
(我一做完這工作，我們就能離開了。)

Mary got drunk at the party last night, so I wouldn’t let her drive home.
(昨天晚上瑪麗在酒會上喝醉了，所以我不讓她開車回家。)

I didn’t stay for the end of the movie because I got bored.
(因爲我覺得枯燥無味，所以電影還沒有結束我就離開了。)

After he graduated, he got hired by an engineering firm. But later he got fired because he didn’t do his work.
(他畢業後就受雇於一家工程公司，可是後來他因爲未能盡職而被解雇了。)

Last night I didn’t get done with my homework until midnight.
(昨天晚上我一直到半夜才把功課做完。)

The things she was saying were ridiculous. Finally I got disgusted and left.
(她所說的事情很荒謬，最後我感到厭惡就走掉了。)

First, they got engaged; then, they got married; later, they got divorced; finally, they got remarried; today they are very happy.
(首先，他們訂了婚；然後，他們結了婚；後來，他們離了婚；最後他們又再結婚；如今他們非常快樂。)
